In the past few weeks, we’ve learned about motion and the forces that cause it in physics.
Motion:
Speed is how fast something moves, calculated as Speed = Distance ÷ Time. If you know any two of speed, distance, or time, you can find the third.
Forces:
The main forces are weight (gravity), support (upward force), friction (slows things down), and thrust (moves things forward). Friction can be useful (like tire grip) or unwanted (like engine wear). Forces can be balanced (object stays still) or unbalanced (object accelerates).
The formulas:
Force = Mass × Acceleration
Acceleration = Force ÷ Mass
Mass = Force ÷ Acceleration
